Until recently, the assembly at Adamsdown had enjoyed an unbroken succession of Sunday afternoon Bible Classes. Initially there were two classes held, one for ladies and one for gentlemen. The ladies were led by Miss Anne Bennett, Mrs Emily Leyshon and later by Mr. Charles Jones. One of the dedicated students at that time was Miss Charlotte Healey who was able to recite the whole of the Epistle of James and Psalm 119 from memory. In the mid 1950’s the Bible classes were combined, and continued until 1995 and were always well attended by all age groups in the assembly, and they were very much appreciated. Mr. Stan Corrick, Mr. Ted James, Mr. Cyril Hocking, Mr. Bert Skellorn, Mr. Jim Voisey and Mr. Gerald Voisey were long-term leaders of the class.

A girls’ class commenced on Friday evenings just after the second world war, when as many as forty enrolled. The minimum age was thirteen but there was no maximum age as some of the members continued attending the classes after they were married. Mrs. Violet Mayberry, Mrs. Margaret Maunder, and Mrs Edna Chilcott initially led the meetings. In later years Miss Pat Cokeley, Mrs Julia Voisey and others, continued the work. There were a variety of activities including: sewing, embroidery, leatherwork and basketry. At the close of the meeting the scriptures were read and a short epilogue given.
